Everyone was talking about The Black Eyed Peas and their deeply cringey Champions League performance
Nick Potts Nick Potts
LAST NIGHT, THE Champions League Final took place in Cardiff with Real Madrid trouncing Juventus 4-1 to be crowned European champions.
Before the match kicked off, however, fans were forced to endure a performance from The Black Eyed Peas of all people.
And let’s just say it was no Super Bowl Halftime Show.
For one thing, the group performed *without* Fergie. (Will.i.am confirmed her departure from the group last week.)
Instead we had to watch Will.i.am, Taboo and apl.de.ap throw shapes on stage and just sort of scream along to Boom Boom Pow.

And everybody made the same gag.
Ho, ho, ho.
Whoops!

People may have been excited to see The Black Eyed Peas in 2009, but now?
To paraphrase Boom Boom Pow, it all felt very “2000 and late”.
Whoops!

Not exactly the act to get everyone hyped for a night of football, were they?

*full body cringe*
In the end, RTÉ’s George Hamilton summed up the whole spectacle by referring to the group as “Will.i.am and his mates”
Pretty much, George.
Looks like Fergie made the right call, eh?
